Creature apparentemente fragili, le ragazze perdute di Rebecca Tillett sono sole in mezzo al deserto dell'immaginario americano. Non sono icone, non sono pin-up e non celebrano niente se non una ripetizione costante del grande fallimento esistenziale. C'è stato un tempo in cui quelle terre sconfinate regalavano sogni, e successivamente quei sogni si sono tramutati in incubi. Ora, semplicemente, non c'è più nulla.
Segnalata a più riprese come una delle voci più pure della nuova fotografia erotica, la Tillett ha saputo destreggiarsi abilmente nella globalizzazione al ribasso delle intelligenze. Ha rifiutato la corsa alla celebrità. Ha rifiutato Condè-Nast. Ha rifiutato corteggiatori dai portafogli gonfi.
I suoi soggetti - rigorosamente femminili - celebrano la lowlife americana, in una fuga dal cuore nero dell'Impero che risulta tanto più affascinante quanto efficace. Con fluttuanti riferimenti pop e underground la Tillett è marginale a ogni movimento importante degli ultimi vent'anni, una Sylvia Plath della fotografia, caparbiamente attaccata alle sue origini (vive e fotografa tra il Colorado e il Nuovo Messico), alle sue amiche e amici e a quel Grande Splendore di cui la sua generazione non ha goduto se non un lontano riflesso. Come la luce di una stella morta da migliaia d'anni.
"Dopo il Grande Splendore" segna il ritorno in Italia della fotografa statunitense Rebecca Tillett, dopo la personale del 2010, con una selezione di nuove fotografie mai esposte in precedenza e realizzate in esclusiva per Mondo Bizzarro.

Declared on several occasions as one of the purest voices of the new erotic photography, Tillett has maneuvered skillfully in the globalized fall of intelligence. She refused the ride to stardom. Refused Conde-Nast . Refused suitors from swollen portfolios. Her subjects - strictly feminine - celebrate the American lowlife, a flight from the black heart of the Empire that is as fascinating as it is effective. With floating pop and underground references Tillett is in the margins of every important movement over the past twenty years, a Sylvia Plath of photography.

After The Great Splendor" marks the return to Italy of the American photographer Rebecca Tillett, after her appearance in 2010, with a selection of new photographs that have never been exhibited previously, and presented exclusively for Bizarro World.
